He also told that he struck a knife into the victim’s heart and buried the dead body in the ground.
Mr. A wanted to do something for Mr. B so Mr. A went to the forest where the murder case happened.
Mr. A searched around the forest and he found a knife which is stained with blood.
He thought that this knife must be the one Mr. B used to murder, he took it to his house and he buried it in a backyard of his house.
For a while after that, Mr. B got arrested on a charge of murder and Mr. A got arrested on a charge of Suppression of Evidence too.
The case stated above is fiction based on an actual story.

About Penalties and Regulations on Suppression of Evidence Cases in Japan
Suppression of Evidence becomes a violation of Penal Code.
Article 104 of Penal Code stipulates that a person who suppresses, damages, counterfeits or alters evidence relating to a criminal case of another person, or who uses counterfeit or altered evidence, shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than 2 years or a fine of not more than 200,000 yen.
Even if the person who committed a crime such as murder suppresses any evidence, Suppression of Evidence isn’t established.
Also, the case stated above, since Mr. B did not instigate Mr. A to take the knife away from the police, Instigation of Suppression of Evidence is not established.
